கண்ணை விழித்தல் ; சிலை முதலியவற்றிற்குக் கண்ணமைத்தல் ; இளநீர் , நுங்கு முதலியவற்றின் கண்ணைத் திறத்தல் ; பிறந்த குட்டிகள் கண்விழித்தல் ; அறிவு உண்டாக்குதல் , கல்வி கற்பித்தல் ; அருள் புரிதல் ; வானம் மேகமூட்டம்விட்டு வெளியாதல் .

kaṇ-tiṟa-
v. id. + tr.
1. To chisel or paint the eyes of an idol or of a picture, respectively, so as to make the image appear to have the sense of sight ;
விக்கிரகம் முதலியவற்றிற்கு கண்வழித்தோன்றச் செய்தல்.
2. To cut open the eyes to the coconut;
பருகுமாறு இளநீரின் கண்ணைத்திறத்தல்.-intr.
1. To open the eyes, as a kitten;
பிறந்தகுட்டிகள் கண்களைத்திறத்தல்.
2. To illumine the mind, to impart instruction, as opening the eyes of a disciple's mind;
அறிவு உண்டாக்குதல்.
3. To educate, instruct;
கல்வி கற்பித்தல். உபாத்தியாயர் என் பிள்ளைக்குக் கண்திறந்து வைத்தார்.
4. To show mercy;
கருணை புரிதல். Loc.
5. To clear, as the sky free from clouds and with the sun shining;
ஆகாயம் வெளியாதல். இன்றைக்காவது வானம் கண்திறக்குமா?
6. To be gracious;
அருள்செய்தல். தெய்வம் கண்திறக்கவேண்டும்.
7. To be enlightened in mind;
அறிவு உண்டாதல்.
