Metal--as iron, &c. Five simple metals are given in the native lexicons--gold, silver, copper, iron, and lead or tin, பஞ்சலோகம். Wils. p. 725. LOHA. To these are sometimes added two mixed metals--as வெண்கலம், a mix ture of copper and tin, making bell-metal, &c., and தரா, a compound of copper and zinc, or pinchbeck, &c.
