A figure of Rhetoric, a paronomasia, in which a word or phrase has a double meaning; a pun, a quibble, உபயார்த்தசொற்றொடர், as நீர்வாரும், which may mean, come thou, or pour water. See அலங்காரம். W. p. 866. S'LESHA. --''Note.'' There are two kinds of சிலேடை. viz., செம்மொழிச்சிலேடை, பிரிமொழிச்சிலேடை, which see.
