மந்திரத்தைப் பலமுறை செபித்தல். எட்டெழுத் தாலுரு வேற்றலார் (சேதுபு. சேதுபல. 114). 1. To repeat mantras; நெட்டுருப் பண்ணுதல். 2. To repeat or rehearse a lesson frequently in order to learn it by heart; ஆவேசமேற்றுதல். (W.) 3. To cause a spirit to possess some one for uttering oracles or for ascertaining future events; துர்ப்போதனைசெய்தல். Colloq. 4. To give evil advice, usu. taking the form of a persuasive talk;
