(துவை II.) bathe, குளி; 2. become wet or soaked, be dipped, நனை; 3. curdle, coagulate, freeze, உறை; 4. be implied, hinted at or alluded to; 5. touch, be trailed on the ground as a garment or tail; 6. mix, blend, mingle, commingle, unite with as in company, கல II; v. t. temper heated metal by dipping it in water, துவைச்சலிடு. தோயாமற்பேச, to speak in ambiguous terms, so as not to commit one's self or divulge a secret. தோய்ந்துக் கொடுக்க, to temper iron or steel. தோயல், தோய்வு, v. n. bathing, dipping, curdling etc; 2. as துவையல் which see.

, [tōy] கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், தோய, ''v. n.'' To plunge in water, நீரில்மூழ்க. 2. To bathe, commonly in cold water, and with out anointing, குளிக்க. 3. To become wet, soaked, sopped, steeped, நனைய. 4. To mix, to blend, mingle, to commingle, to unite with, as in company, கலக்க. 5. To touch to come in contact with, to be trailed on the ground as a garment or tail, நிலத்திற் பதிய. (நாலடிசிறப்புப்பாயிரம்.) 6. To copulate, to cohabit, புணர. 7. To be implied, hinted, at, alluded to; to be contained or included in, as a meaning by implication, குறிக்கப்பட. 8. ''(c.)'' To be curdled, as milk by design, உறைய. 9. To commit one's self in speak ing, commonly in the negative, அகப்பட்டுக் கொள்ள. 1. ''v. a. [prov.]'' To temper heated metal, by dipping it in water, துவைச்சலிட. ''(c.)'' நச்செழுத்துத்தோயப்பாடினான். He has temper ed his verses with malign letters.
