மலையாள நாட்டிற் கள்ளிறக்குஞ் சாதியார். தெங்கும் பனையும் இவர்கள் மனமின்றி ஈழவர் ஏறப்பெறாதாராகவும் (S.I.I. ii, 509). One of a caste of people who emigrated from Ceylon in the remote past and settled in Tinnevelly, Travancore and Malabar, the caste of toddy-drawers;
