மலைச்சார்பிற் காட்டையழித்து இரண்டொரு ஆண்டு உழுது விதைத்துப் பின் செடிகொடிகளை முளைக்கவிட்டு மறுபடியும் முன்போற் செய்யும் சாகுபடி. (G. S. A. D. I, 333.) Shifting cultivation on the hills; cultivation on the wooded slopes, the jungle being cleared and burnt, and the process being repeated after allowing the land to lie fallow untila fresh growth has re-established itself, dist. fr. uṟavakkāṭu;
