The element of time-measure which specifies the starting beat of a song, of four kinds, viz., one of ten tāḷa-p-pirāṇam, q.v.; ஞாயிறு, திங்கள், செவ்வாய், புதன், வியாழன், வெள்ளி, சனி, இராகு, கேது; கோள்கள். 1. , [kirakam] ''s.'' A house, a mansion, or palace, வீடு, Wils. p. 295. GRUHA. 2. A planet, கோள். Wils. p. 34. GRAHA. The planets in the Hindu system are nine, called நவக் கிரகம், viz.: 1. ஆதித்தன் or ஞாயிறு, the sun. 2. சோமன் or திங்கள், the Moon. 3. அங்காரகன் or செவ்வாய், Mars. 4. புதன், Mercury. 5. பிரகற்பதி--பிரகஸ்பதி or வியாழன், Jupiter. 6. சுக்கிரன் or வெள்ளி, Venus. 7. சனி, Saturn. 8. இராகு, Caput draconis. 9. கேது, Cauda draconis. The last two are considered vi sible in eclipses of the sun and moon, இராகு being, black, and கேது red. (See under கோள்.) 3. Relation in the order of time between a vocal and an instrumental sound -the one immediately preceding or immediately following the other; one of the ten தாளப்பிரமாணம். அவனைக்கிரகம்பிடித்தாட்டுகிறது. An evil planet is exerting its influence on him.
