தனக்குரிய மாத்திரையின் மிக்கொலிக்கும் உயிரெழுத்து. (நன். 91, உரை.) A vowel which sounds with more than its normal quantity, which fact is indicated in writing by placing a short vowel of the class after the long vowel, as in ஓஒதல் வேண்டும், one of ten cārpeḻuttu, q.v.;
