[in mythol.]'' Cauda draconis (dragon's tail) or the red serpent into which the trunk of the Asura ''Sainhikeya,'' severed from the head (Rahu) by Vishnu, at the churning of the sea of milk, was changed; and which, with Caput draconis, is said to swallow the sun and moon for betraying them. This causes eclipses. 2. ''[in astron.]'' The descending node, sup posed by most of the Hindu astronomers to be one of those heavenly bodies rarely visible. 3. A mark, a sign, a symbol, அடையாளம். 4.
