Woad"-wax`en, n. Etym: [Cf. Wood-wax.] (Bot.) Defn: A leguminous plant (Genista tinctoria) of Europe and Russian Asia, and adventitious in America; -- called also greenwood, greenweed, dyer's greenweed, and whin, wood-wash, wood-wax, and wood- waxen.
