secant

n. வெட்டுக்கோடு, ஒன்றிற்கு மேற்பட்ட இடங்களில் வளைவரையை வெட்டும் நேர்க்கோடு, குறுக்கை, வட்டத்தில் தொடுகோட்டின் செவ்வெட்டுக் கோட்டிற்கும் ஆரக்கோட்டிற்கும் இடையே உள்ளவீதம், செங்கோண முக்கோணத்தின் பிறிது கோண வகையில் சாய்வரை அடிவரைகளின் வீதம், (பெ.) வரைவகையில் வெட்டிச் செல்கிற.
