-1 n. திருமட முதல்வர், மடத்துத்தலைவருக்கு அடுத்த நிலையிலுள்ள திருமடத்துப் பணியாளர், துறவியர் குழுத்தலைவர். (வர.) சில இத்தாலிய குடியரசுகளில் தலைமைத்தண்டலாளர்.-2 a. முந்திய, காலத்தால் முற்பட்ட, முன்னதாகஉள்ள, முந்திய முதன்மையுடைய, (வினையடை.) முன்பாக, முன்னே.
