flagellant

n. தன்னைத்தானே கசையால் அடித்துக் கொள்பவர், கசை நோன்பாளர், (பெ.) கசையால் அடிக்கும் இயல்புடைய.

Flag"el*lant, n. Etym: [L. flagellans, p.p. of flagellare: cf.F. flagellant. See Flagellate.] (Eccl. Hist.) Defn: One of a fanatical sect which flourished in Europe in the 13th and 14th centuries, and maintained that flagellation was of equal virtue with baptism and the sacrament; -- called also disciplinant.
