Ac*quire", v. t. [imp. & p. p. Acquired; p. pr. & vb. n. Acquiring.] Etym: [L. acquirere, acquisitum; ad + quarere to seek for. In OE. was a verb aqueren, fr. the same, through OF. aquerre.
