Men, beasts, birds, vegetables, employments, &c., in digenous and peculiar to hilly tracts; viz.: 1. குறிஞ்சித்தலைவர், chiefs heads and superiors--as பொருப்பன், வெற்பன், and சிலம் பன் with their females. 2. குறிஞ்சித்தெய் வம், the god, Skanda. 3. குறிஞ்சித்தொழில். employments--as sowing mountain paddy, watching the millet, collecting honey, digging up roots, &c. 4. குறிஞ்சி நீர், mountain streams--as அருவி and சுனை. 5. குறிஞ்சிப்பண், melody, known by the name of குறிஞ்சிப்பண். 6. குறிஞ்சிப் பறை, drum--as தொண்டகம். 7.குறிஞ்சிப் புள், birds--as parrots and peacocks. 8. குறிஞ்சிப்பூ, flowers--as November flower, &c. 9. குறிஞ்சிமரங்கள், trees--as வேங்கை, a kind of Pterocarpus, குறிஞ்சிமரம்; சந்தனம், sandal-tree; தேக்கு. teak; அகில், Aquila; அசோகு, Ashoka; புன்னை, Calo phyllum inophyllum. 1. குறிஞ்சிமாக்கள், inhabitants--as குறவர், கானவர், குறத்தியர். 11. குறிஞ்சியாழ், lute, known by the name of குறிஞ்சியாழ்திறம். 12. குறிஞ்சியுணவு. food --as bamboo rice, மூங்கிலரிசி; mountain rice, ஐவனநெல்; another hill-rice, தோரை நெல்; millet, தினை; bulbous roots, கிழங்கு; honey, தேன், &c. 13. குறிஞ்சியூர், villages --as சிறுகுடி. 14. குறிஞ்சிவிலங்கு, beasts --as the tiger, bear, elephant, lion, &c.
