n. (மண்.) மண்டலம், வரிமண்டலம், தென்வடலான நிலவுலக ஐம்பெரும் பிரிவுகளுள் ஒன்று, பட்டை வளையம், ஒரே மையமுள்ள இரண்டு வட்டங்களுக்கு இடைப்பட்ட பரப்பு, செவ்விடைப்பட்டி, கோள மேற்பரப்புப் பகுதியில் ஒரு போகு ஆகவுள்ள இரண்டு தளங்களுக்கிடைப்பட்ட பகுதி, நீளிடைப்பட்டி, கூம்பு-நீள் உருளை ஆகியவற்றின் மேற்பரப்பு வகையில் அதன் ஊடச்சுக்குச் செங்கோணமாக அதனை வெட்டும் ஒருபோகு ஆகவுள்ள இரண்டு தளங்களுக்கிடைப்பட்ட செங்குத்தான பகுதி, நீள் வரித்திட்டு, வண்ணப் பரப்பில் பிறிது வண்ணப்பட்டிகை, (பழ.) இடுப்புப்பட்டி, (வினை) வரி மண்டலமாகச் சுற்றி வளைந்துகிட, பட்டை வளையம் போல் சூழ்ந்து கொள், மண்டலங்களாக வகுத்தமை, மண்டலங்களிடையே பரப்பியமை.
