Tri*chom"a*nes, n. Etym: [L., a kind of plant, from Gr. (Bot.) Defn: Any fern of the genus Trichomanes. The fronds are very delicate and often translucent, and the sporangia are borne on threadlike receptacles rising from the middle of cup-shaped marginal involucres. Several species are common in conservatories; two are native in the United States.
