n. வானம், ஆகாயம், வான்முகடு, தட்பவெப்பச் சூழல், சூழ்நிலை, சுவரில்படம் மாட்டப்படும் உயர்வரிசைத் தளம், வானீலம், (வினை.) மரப்பந்தை உயர உதைத்தேற்று, படத்தைச் சுவரில் உயரமாக மாட்டு, ஓவியர் படத்தைச் சுவரில் உயரமாகமாட்டு.

[Obs.] She passeth as it were a sky. Gower. 3. The apparent arch, or vault, of heaven, which in a clear day is of a blue color; the heavens; the firmament; -- sometimes in the plural. Note: Sky is often used adjectively or in the formation of self- explaining compounds; as, sky color, skylight, sky-aspiring, sky- born, sky-pointing, sky-roofed, etc. Sky blue, an azure color. -- Sky scraper (Naut.), a skysail of a triangular form.
