rummage

n. துருவிக்கண்டெடுத்த பொருள்கள், துருவித் தேடுதல், கந்தல்கூளக் குவியல், தேட்டராய்வு, சுங்க அலுவலர் வகையில் கப்பலைச் சோதனை போடுதல், (வினை) எங்கும் துருவித்தேடு, நுணுகிப் பரவலாக ஆராய், சோதனைபோடு, கிளறிப்பார், பலவற்றில் ஒன்றைத் தேடிப் பொறுக்கியெடு, தேடும் வேலையில் கலைத்துப் போடு, தேடுவதற்கான இங்குமங்கும் சிதறியெறி.


Rum"mage (; 48), n. Etym: [For roomage, fr. room; hence originally, a making room, a packing away closely. See Room.] 1. (Naut.) Defn: A place or room for the stowage of cargo in a ship; also, the act of stowing cargo; the pulling and moving about of packages incident to close stowage; -- formerly written romage. [Obs.] 2. A searching carefully by looking into every corner, and by turning things over. He has such a general rummage and reform in the office of matrimony. Walpole.
