OF. remonstrant, F.remontrant.] Defn: Inclined or tending to remonstrate; expostulatory; urging reasons in opposition to something. Re*mon"strant, n. Defn: One who remonstrates; specifically (Eccl. Hist.), Defn: one of the Arminians who remonstrated against the attacks of the Calvinists in 1610, but were subsequently condemned by the decisions of the Synod of Dort in 1618. See Arminian.
