Quick"en tree`. Etym: [Probably from quick, and first applied to the aspen or some tree with quivering leaves; cf. G. quickenbaum, quizenbaum, quitschenbaum. Cf. Quitch grass.] (Bot.) Defn: The European rowan tree; -- called also quickbeam, and quickenbeam. See Rowan tree.
