pyroacetic

Pyr`o*a*ce"tic, a. Etym: [Pyro- + acetic: cf. F. pyroacétique.] (Chem.) Defn: Pertaining to, and designating, a substance (acetone) obtained by the distillation of the acetates. It is now called also pyroacetic ether, and formerly was called pyroacetic spirit.
