picromel

Pic"ro*mel, n. Etym: [Gr. picromel.] (Old Chem.) Defn: A colorless viscous substance having a bitter-sweet taste. Note: It was formerly supposed to be the essential principle of the bile, but is now known to be a mixture, principally of salts of glycocholic and taurocholic acids.
