Pen*tam"e*rus, n. Etym: [NL. See Pentamerous.] (Paleon.) Defn: A genus of extinct Paleozoic brachiopods, often very abundant in the Upper Silurian. Pentamerus limestone (Geol.), a Silurian limestone composed largely of the shells of Pentamerus.
