Pa*ril"lin, n. Etym: [Shortened fr. sarsaparillin.] (Chem.) Defn: A glucoside resembling saponin, found in the root of sarsaparilla, smilax, etc., and extracted as a bitter white crystalline substance; -- called also smilacin, sarsaparilla saponin, and sarsaparillin.
