Par"a*pegm, n. Etym: [L. parapegma, Gr. parapegme.] Defn: An engraved tablet, usually of brass, set up in a public place. Note: Parapegms were used for the publication of laws, proclamations, etc., and the recording of astronomical phenomena or calendar events.
