Pan"go*lin, n. Etym: [Malay pang.] (Zoöl.) Defn: Any one of several species of Manis, Pholidotus, and related genera, found in Africa and Asia. They are covered with imbricated scales, and feed upon ants. Called also scaly ant-eater.
