No"pal, n. Etym: [Mexican nopalli.] (Bot.) Defn: A cactaceous plant (Nopalea cochinellifera), originally Mexican, on which the cochineal insect feeds, and from which it is collected. The name is sometimes given to other species of Cactaceæ.
