n. நடு, (பெயரடை) நடுவிலுள்ள, இடைப்பட்ட, இடைநிலையான, இடைத்தரமான, (ஒலி) ஒலிவகையில் உயர்வு தாழ்வு ஆகிய ஒரு நிலைகளுக்கும் இடைப்பட்ட, நடுநிலையில் தோன்றுகிற.

Defn: Made with a somewhat elevated position of some certain part of the tongue, in relation to the palate; midway between the high and the low; -- said of certain vowel sounds; as, a (ale), ê (êll), o (old).
