Me*tac"e*tone, n. Etym: [Pref. met- + acetone.] (Chem.) Defn: A colorless liquid of an agreeable odor, C6H10O, obtained by distilling a mixture of sugar and lime; -- so called because formerly regarded as a polymeric modification of acetone.
