n. நீர்மம், திரவவடிவுடைய பொருள், ஒழுகியல் ஒலி, (பெ.) நீரியலான, நீர்ப்பொருளின் தன்மையுடைய, நீர்போன்ற, ஒழுகியலான, பளிங்கியலான, எளிதில் ஔத ஊடுருவும் தன்மைவாய்ந்த, நிலையற்ற, அடிக்கடி மாறும் இயல்புடைய, சொத்துக்கள் வகையில் எளிதில் பணமாக மாற்றக்கூடிய, ஓழுகிசையான, முரணோசையற்ற. (ஒலி.) மிடற்றொலியல்லாத, உயிரொலி போன்ற.

Note: Liquid and fluid are terms often used synonymously, but fluid has the broader signification. All liquids are fluids, but many fluids, as air and the gases, are not liquids. 2. (Phon.) Defn: A letter which has a smooth, flowing sound, or which flows smoothly after a mute; as, l and r, in bla, bra. M and n also are called liquids. Liquid measure, a measure, or system of measuring, for liquids, by the gallon, quart, pint, gill, etc.
