n. கத்தி, பேனாக்கத்தி, குத்துவெட்டுக்குரிய பெருங்கத்தி, இயந்திரத்தின் பாகமாகவுள்ள அலகு,(வினை.) கத்தியினால் வெட்டு, கத்திக்கொண்டு குத்து.

An instrument consisting of a thin blade, usually of steel and having a sharp edge for cutting, fastened to a handle, but of many different forms and names for different uses; as, table knife, drawing knife, putty knife, pallet knife, pocketknife, penknife, chopping knife, etc. 2. A sword or dagger. The coward conquest of a wretch's knife. Shak.
