n. ஊளை, நாய் ஓநாய் நரி முதலியவற்றின் கூக்குரல், வலி தாங்க முடியாது செய்யும் அலறல், ஏளனமான கூச்சல், கம்பியில்லாத் தந்தியில் ஒலி வாங்கும் கருவியில் ஏற்படும் ஓசை, (வி.) ஊளையிடு, வலியினால் அலறு, கூக்குரலிட்டுக் கெக்கலி, சொற்களை ஊளையிட்டுக்கொண்டே ஒலித்தல் செய்.
