Grib"ble, n. Etym: [Cf. Prov. E. grib to bite.] (Zoöl.) Defn: A small marine isopod crustacean (Limnoria lignorum or L. terebrans), which burrows into and rapidly destroys submerged timber, such as the piles of wharves, both in Europe and America.
