Ep`i*chor"dal, a. Etym: [Pref. epi- + chordal.] (Anat.) Defn: Upon or above the notochord; -- applied esp. to a vertebral column which develops upon the dorsal side of the notochord, as distinguished from a perichordal column, which develops around it.
