n. குதிரைப்படைவீரன், மூர்க்கத்தனமானமுரடன், நெருப்புமிழும் புறாவகை, பழங்காலக் கைத்துப்பாக்கி, படைவீரர்களை ஏவி அட்டுழியம் செய், துன்புறுத்தி வலுக்கட்டாயப்படுத்து.


Dra*goon", n. Etym: [F. dragon dragon, dragoon, fr. L. draco dragon, also, a cohort's standard (with a dragon on it). The name was given from the sense standard. See Dragon.] 1. ((Mil.) Defn: Formerly, a soldier who was taught and armed to serve either on horseback or on foot; now, a mounted soldier; a cavalry man. 2. A variety of pigeon. Clarke.
