Der`o*tre"ma*ta, n. pl. Etym: [NL., fr. Gr. (Zoöl.) Defn: The tribe of aquatic Amphibia which includes Amphiuma, Menopoma, etc. They have permanent gill openings, but no external gills; -- called also Cryptobranchiata. [Written also Derotrema.]
