De*late", v. t. [imp. & p. p. Delated; p. pr. & vb. n. Delating.] Etym: [L. delatus, used as p. p. of deferre. See Tolerate, and cf. 3d Defer, Delay, v.] [Obs. or Archaic] 1. To carry; to convey. Try exactly the time wherein sound is delated. Bacon. 2. To carry abroad; to spread; to make public. When the crime is delated or notorious. Jer. Taylor. 3.
