n. செந்நிறம், சிறிது நீலங்கலந்த திண் சிவப்பு நிறம், (பெ.) திண் சிவப்பான, (வி.) திண் சிவப்பாக்கு, செவ்வண்ணம் தோய்வி, திண் சிவப்பாகு, முகஞ்சிவப்புறு, நாணங்கொள்.

Skr. k produced by a worm; k worm or insect + jan to generate; akin to E. kin. CF. Carmine, Kermes.] Defn: A deep red color tinged with blue; also, red color in general.
