-1 n. தொப்பி, தலைமூடாக்கு, மடத்துத் துறவியின் மூடாக்கு, மடத்துத் துறவியின் மூடாக்கிட்ட மேலங்கி, மடத்துத் துறவிக்குரிய சின்னம், மடத்துறவிநிலை, மடத்துறவி, புகைபோக்கி மூடி, இயந்திர மூடாக்கு, விமான இயந்திரக்கவிகை மூடி, (வி.) மூடாக்காக மூடு, மடத்துத் துறவியாக்-2 n. தண்ணீர்த்தொட்டி, இருவர் தூக்க இருபுறப்பிடிகளுள்ள மிடா.


Cowl (koul), n. Etym: [AS cuhle, cugle, cugele; cf. dial. G. kogel, gugel, OF. coule, goule; all fr. LL. cuculla, cucullus, fr. L. cucullus cap, hood; perh. akin to celare to conceal, cella cell. Cf. Cucullate.] 1. A monk's hood; -- usually attached to the gown. The nname was also applied to the hood and garment together. What differ more, you cry, than crown and cowl Pope. 2.
