n. உணவுப்பொழுது நண்பன், உடன் உண்ணும் தோழன், கூட்டு வாழ்வு வாழும் உயிரினம், (பெ.) ஒரே மேசையில் உண்ணுகிற, (உயி.) ஒன்றுக்கொன்று உதவிக் கொண்டு இணைந்து வாழ்கிற.
