cannonade

n. பீரங்கியின் தொடர்குண்டுவீச்சு, பீரங்கித் தாக்குதல், (வி.) பீரங்கியால் தாக்கு, குண்டுவீச்சால் தப்ர்.


Can"non*ade", n. Etym: [F. Canonnade; cf. It. cannanata.] 1. The act of discharging cannon and throwing ball, shell, etc., for the purpose of destroying an army, or battering a town, ship, or fort; -- usually, an attack of some continuance. A furious cannonade was kept up from the whole circle of batteries on the devoted towm. Prescott. 2. Fig.; A loud noise like a cannonade; a booming. Blue Walden rolls its cannonade. Ewerson.
