n. மட்டக்குறி, நில அளவைக்காரர்கள் தங்கள் அளவைமட்டத்துக்கு மூலக்குறியாகப் பாறை-கல் போன்றவைகளின் மீது வெட்டும் அடையாளம்.
Bench mark. (Leveling) Defn: Any permanent mark to which other levels may be referred. Specif. : A horizontal mark at the water's edge with reference to which the height of tides and floods may be measured.
