Am*ba"ry, n., or Ambary hemp. [Hind. ambara, ambari.] Defn: A valuable East Indian fiber plant (Hibiscus cannabinus), or its fiber, which is used throughout India for making ropes, cordage, and a coarse canvas and sackcloth; --called also brown Indian hemp.
